Bio

Charlie J Wilcox, FNP-BC, is a dynamic and passionate board-certified adult care, primary care, and family nurse practitioner at Cookeville Medical Clinic RHC. From four office locations in Cookeville, Gainesboro, Crossville, and Sparta, Tennessee, she cares for patients at the Cookeville office.

In 2005, Charlie graduated from Cumberland University (CU) in Lebanon, Tennessee, receiving her Bachelor in Nursing.

She spent the next 15 years in the emergency department, flight nursing, and stents in the intensive care unit (ICU) and neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). In 2018, Charlie graduated from Tennessee Tech University with her Master in Science in Nursing (MSN).

Charlie loves many aspects of her job, but her passion for primary care surpasses all. Talking to patients, educating them, and keeping them healthy is what she loves most about her career. She takes an integrative approach to medicine and health by incorporating the whole person, mind, body, and spirit into how she cares for her patients.

Drawing on the knowledge from her personal and professional experience, Charlie works hard to create the best healing environment possible. She has a particular love for kids and enjoys working with whole families for their medical care.

When she's not working, Charlie has a big family and a hobby farm to care for. Affectionately called “Charlie” by her husband, she met Wil while they were both flight nurses, and they were married on the helipad where they first met. They have five children, three dogs, two sugar gliders, and a bunch of chickens.

Charlie loves the outdoors and spends time farming, hunting, fishing, and camping. She also enjoys canning, dehydrating, and preserving food for her family.

Charlie and her family deeply love their country, the United States (USA). Her husband, Wil, is a veteran of the US Navy. They share a special interest in working with trauma survivors and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in combat.
